A Simple Way to Edit Your Photos

Adobe Lightroom is a very complicated app, but you don’t have to do too much to make your photos look great. Here is a simple way I edit my photos whenever I’m short on time or on the fly. All you have to do is follow along and you can start creating really awesome looking photos

  • Select Auto

  • Exposure: Leave as is or adjust based on sight

  • Contrast: +15-20

  • Highlights: -80-100

  • Shadows: -20-25

  • Whites/blacks: Hold down alt or hold down on screen while adjusting the slider. Go back and forth until red or black is gone or barely visible

  • Leave all as is or toggle between all HSL tabs to find the colors that look best.

  • Switch between Auto or As Shot white balance and choose whichever looks best

Effects

  • Clarity: +15-20

  • Dehaze: +10-15. More if the picture is really hazy

  • Optional

    • Vignette: down 18-25

    • Midpoint, roundness, feather: increase each until the vignette is barely visible (not necessary)

Detail

  • Sharpening: +32-45

  • Masking: 80-90

  • Noise reduction: 30-40

  • Color noise reduction: 70-90
